Avalon Park Fiber Artists is an all-inclusive fiber group. Crochet, knit, weave, spin, macrame, cross-stitch, embroidery. We celebrate all fiber art and welcome new members. We (normally) meet Wednesday nights at the community center and create for donations, personal, and/or business. For anyone living in or near Avalon Park who can knit and/or crochet (or is interested in learning). Join us at the Avalon Park Community Center (13401 Tanja King Blvd) Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:45 pm. Beginner through experienced are all welcome. The first Wednesday of the month will be a learning/question night. Bring in your own supplies and a pattern if possible and we will help you. All works are welcome to join be it personal, donation, or business. We do try to encourage items for donations such as creating chemo caps and scarves for men and women, newborn hats and blankets, prayer shawls, or anything else that will bring comfort to someone. Creations are being donated to Winnie Palmer and Florida Cancer Center for its patients.
Whether you are enjoying one of the large quarterly festivals or relaxing in the park at one of the monthly movies, the community is full of life and a variety of family-friendly activities.
